This Poster was created for the ‘Westies’ Exhibition at WSU and represented my journey across the Blue Mountains to where I studied, Penrith. While a large amount of people think of the West as being disadvantaged that was not the case, as it represented a chance to learn for myself. I come from a small town in the Central Tablelands and and it offered no opportunity for further study, with closest place that offered Design being Penrith.

The poster includes a sunrise over the mountains, which I saw most days on my way to uni. Paper planes, which symbolise knowledge and travel. Everything was placed in the silhouette of my head, which cut through the negative headlines of the newspaper which can be seen in the foreground.
